While I was enjoying my iced green tea on a hot spring day, I noticed the Starbucks logo on the cup could be considered as advertising. Almost everyone who sees the Starbucks logo of the lady in the green circle these days knows what company the logo represents. It has gotten so popular that pretty much anybody who sees the logo thinks of Starbucks and then thinks of their products. Since the company doesn't need any other descriptions or words to persuade the consumer to buy their products, the Starbucks company purely relies on their logos on their cups for advertisement. For instance, if somebody sees this cup, they would generally assume it's from Starbucks and will think of it and later want to go there and purchase their own drink or other item. Therefore, Starbucks relies on the their company logo, even on their cups, for advertisement. Any other feedback?
I agree with Lucy, its basically like free advertising for the company, extremely similar to the way tons of clothing brands sell shirts with their name on the front of the shirt. By doing this tons of people notice the shirt and logo on the person who is wearing it and then they go an buy a the brand with shirt with the logo and then someone else sees it and they buy it....
ReplyDeleteIt's just this huge endless circle and the company always wins and gets more customers. Because of this source of free advertising, brands with this type of clothing rarely have to ever make more advertisements. For example with the Starbucks cup; Have you ever seen a Starbucks ad (billboard, bus stop, newspaper, or on TV)?
Exactly! They're pretty much set for advertising with just including their company's logos on their products. And good point, no I don't think they even advertise on tv, billboards, or anything else. I remember seeing it in a magazine ONCE though. But still...
