Tommy Hilfiger Magazine Ad

This is a very unique ad that I noticed in the People magazine today. What caught my attention was that there are so many different people of different characters, ages, and interests in this ad of a pretty large age range from each other. The youngest appears to be the girl in the hat who looks like she's about 13 and the oldest is the grandpa with the fishing poles who looks about 70 years old. I think such a great variety of people was included to convey the idea that anyone from their teenage years all the way up to grandparents are able to wear Tommy Hilfiger clothes and anyone could find their style from their brand. I also think that the background provides the feeling of the need to escape. There are also two dogs and a crocodile chewing on something in the bottom left corner which was probably included in the photo shoot to provide wit & humor to the ad. A group of people all together taking a picture also portrays the need for affiliation. Furthermore, since there are no other words written on the ad to describe the clothes of the brand, the Tommy Hilfiger company could be considered to be a lovemark, since the majority of people in our society are familiar with the company's clothes already.
